The Problem No One Was Solving
It started with a corner of our living room in Brussels — and the ugly, carpeted monolith occupying it.
We had spent years building a home we loved. Considered every piece of furniture. Obsessed over materials. Curated the space with patience and intention. Then our cats needed somewhere to climb, scratch, and sleep — and the only options available were beige towers wrapped in synthetic plush, designed as if aesthetics were an afterthought and your sofa was an enemy.
We searched for luxury cat furniture that actually looked at home in a considered interior. What existed was either functional and ugly, or decorative and useless to a real cat. The compromise felt so deeply baked into the category that no one was questioning it.
So we decided to question it ourselves.
Why We Started NevoPet
In early 2025, we launched NevoPet with a single conviction: cat furniture doesn't have to ruin your home.
The people most likely to invest seriously in a sofa, a rug, or a piece of original art are the same people who deserve designer cat furniture that respects those choices. Not a product that gets hidden in the spare room. Not something you apologise for when guests arrive. Furniture that earns its place — visually, structurally, permanently.
We are not a pet supply company. We are a home furnishings brand that designs for cats and the humans who love them.
Inspired by the Principles Behind Beautiful Design
We looked to the design traditions that have always solved the problem of beautiful utility: Scandinavian functionalism, Japanese Zen restraint, and the Japandi movement that merges both into something quietly powerful. Clean lines. Natural materials. Honest construction. Nothing decorative that isn't also structural.

Our Original Quality Control Team
When we say our designs are cat-approved, we mean it with complete sincerity.
Our own cats were the first living beings to interact with every prototype. While we obsessed over wood grain, material weight, and architectural proportion, they tested the things that actually matter to a cat: whether a platform was stable enough to land on at speed, whether a sisal post was satisfying enough to dig into properly, whether a perch offered the right sightline and enough depth to feel genuinely secure.
They did not care about our design goals. They wanted a kingdom. And if a prototype didn't deliver one, they ignored it entirely. Their indifference was our most useful data point.

The Materials Make the Difference
Because we were making furniture for our own home first, cutting corners was never a consideration.
We replaced cheap synthetic plush with materials we would choose for our own furniture: solid birch plywood from sustainable European suppliers, natural sisal rope that genuinely satisfies a cat's scratching instinct, and 100% New Zealand Merino wool lining the pieces meant for sleeping and nesting. No harsh chemicals. No off-gassing. Nothing your cat shouldn't be pressing their face against for hours.

The discovery we kept making was that beautiful and functional are not in tension at all. When you build with honest materials and thoughtful engineering, the result works better for cats and looks better in homes. The compromise was always an illusion — and a choice someone was making on your behalf.
